Gratituesday | Our Troops

So I know this Gratituesday is late. But it’s here… and it’s one of my favorites, ever. :) I was waiting on some pictures before posting… so here you go!

I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll mention it again: I’ve got a soft spot for our service men and women. I was born and raised a Navy brat and have married an Army man. I’ve experienced the highs and lows of deployments and reunions as a child and as an adult I’ve lost loved ones who sacrificed for our freedom.

Now as an adult I will experience my very first deployment as a military spouse. Tommy and I have known for a few weeks now that he will be deploying, but the military mindset is always “hurry up and wait.” So, we’ve been waiting for more official word. We keep getting it - but of course part of us wonders if they will change their minds the morning of departure. I mean, you honestly never know.

We’ve begun the preparations for this deployment and one of my biggest priorities (naturally) was to get some great photos taken of us for us to have while he’s away. I went with one of my all time favorite area photographers and I am absolutely thrilled with our images. They are so special to us.  Please, go take a look to see more of Marta’s amazing talent!

This week, my delayed Gratituesday is about how grateful I am for our military servicemen and women. They spend so much time away from their families, in uncomfortable and risky situations, enduring more than we can ever imagine, all to protect our country and its citizens. I am so proud to be a part of a military family and so, so grateful for the sacrifice of those around me.
