Gratituesday | Traditions

So, you know how much I love family. The bond that only family members share, “getting” each other, unconditionally loving one another. Something else that I absolutely love about families are the traditions they share. I love traditions. They make me happy. Holiday traditions, wedding traditions, simple family traditions… I think traditions are a salute to loved ones of the past and such a great way to get people involved with what is going on around you.

Breaking the glass!

When we went to Atlanta, we went to the wedding of one of Tommy’s college best friends. He happens to have a Jewish background so they incorporated a lot of Jewish traditions into the ceremony. This was my first time attending a wedding with traditions like this sprinkled in throughout their big day and I LOVED it! Those traditions! They were SO fun! Everyone jumped in to celebrate!

With the holidays right around the corner, I am sure many of you have started to think about the traditions you will continue to uphold in the next few months. I’d love it if you’d share them with me! What is your favorite tradition? (Holiday or not!) I think one of my favorite traditions is simply decorating/preparing for the holidays and spending time in the kitchen with my mom and sister both on the days leading up to the big meal and the day of the big meal (Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner - love them both!). :)

This week, I am grateful for traditions and that we honor those from our past by continuing to uphold them!
