My friend Sabrena | an opportunity for aspiring photographers

(Sabrena & I with Justin Townes Earle behind us!)

One of my favorite things about the photography business has been meeting other people who share the same passions and dreams as I do. It is so fun to share with a good photog friend the latest comment I received from a bride who just saw her wedding sneak peek photos posted on facebook or the most recent exciting opportunity around the corner. These friends KNOW the exact feelings of enthusiasm and fulfillment I am experiencing in those moments. And they are excited for me, too! They are encouraging. They understand how a comment from a satisfied client gives me the energy and inspiration to keep truckin’ during late nights of editing. These friends understand.

Even more than understanding me, they also love to share their passion with others as much as I do.

My dear friend and local area photographer, Sabrena Deal from S. Carter Studios, has decided to open her heart and share her story of how she entered the photography business with others who have a similar dream. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this!! I wish I had something like this to attend when I was first starting my business. I know some of my blog followers are also aspiring photographers and I really hope you guys will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!

Here is what Sabrena is saying about it:

What if I can be part of enabling other people to understand how to develop a professional photography business just by sharing my story? I am so thankful for the opportunity to watch people celebrate love, make choices that change their stories forever. I really couldn’t imagine a more wonderful thing to spend my career doing than helping people capture and remember these days.

What I’ve been thinking over, chewing on and slightly hyperventilating about is the idea of hosting a table talk about the process I went through in developing S. Carter Studios.

Sabrena has such a heart for people. She loves people with the love of Christ. She wants to give to, help, and serve others. You will not only leave the forum with a ton of new information, but I firmly believe you will be inspired by the business woman and person she truly is on the inside. Witnessing her character alone will inspire you to be a better person and a better business owner. I am so thrilled that she is taking this step and offering guidance for those who want it. I know it will come back to her ten-fold.

If you are interested in attending the forum, here is a little bit of what you can expect to be covered:

  • How do you establish pricing and packaging?
  • What kind of equipment do you use?
  • How do you get the word out about your photography?

In addition to covering these topics, Sabrena will be providing a packet of information about the available services in our industry, her favorite blogs to follow, the places she buys her equipment and other places/people/services she has found and learned about these past three years. I also hope to contribute as much as possible and will be available for one-on-one chats after the forum.

The forum will be held Saturday, September 19th from 2pm to 6pm. The cost is $25 per person or $40 if you bring a friend. The cost covers food and materials.

After the forum we will all be going out to dinner together for more good times and networking! You know you wanna be there! :) If you are interested in joining us please leave a comment or contact Sabrena at www.scarterstudios.com.
