I have been wanting to make my photography blog a little more personal for a while now. Some of you may know this already, but I have had a personal blog for… oh… YEARS! I had a real diaryland.com journal way back in 1995! Seriously! I was the “closet nerd” in middle school who was miss social butterfly in the halls of the ol’ KG Middle School with a secret computer life back at home. This was before AIM was popular. This was when AOL was the NEW, big, THING! (Come on, I know some of you were with me back then!) So yes, I have been blogging for a long time. About “personal stuff.” (We’ll leave it at that. Ya’ll don’t want to know what a moody 13 y/o girl was writing on her blog back in the day!)
So about a year ago I started this photography blog to display my latest work and sneak peeks for current clients. But the truth is, I really haven’t cared for and nurtured this blog as much as I have been wanting. I mean, this photography thing is my PASSION. And I need my clients to know how real I am about that!
A little over six weeks ago I turned my personal blog into a gratitude blog. My goal has been to blog every day with five things for which I am grateful. It has been a fantastic exercise in staying positive during trials and recognizing my blessings when I get a little caught up in my American Dream lifestyle. So now I want to bring a little bit of my optimism and excitement here to my photography blog. I hope it will help add a little variety and personalness to this side of my little corner on the web.
To debute my gratitude posts, I will start with how grateful I am for fresh flowers.

I know it seems silly, but those little things brighten my day so much! The fresh, clean scent… the bright colors… and the simplicity of them sitting happily in a jar on my dining room table just brings me such joy. I love to sit down at my dining room table with a cup of warm coffee, a book to read and enjoy the fresh flowers. I am so happy in that little place. It’s the little things in life, I tell ya!
