Whew! Long time, no post!
So much has been going on here! I’ve been trying to catch up with the business side of things during the slower wedding season. I am re-vamping some of the package options for family and portraits as well as adding a few goodies to the wedding packages. This is also my first year doing taxes as a small business owner. Let’s just say I have learned a lot so far and I’ll be keeping track of things a little differently during 2009!
Also, my 2009 wedding season is booking at an alarming rate. I have twice as many weddings booked this year than I did this time last year. I had been prepared to take on whatever the economy had (or didn’t have) for me this year, but so far the business appears to be continually growing! What an awesome blessing!
With growth comes a time crunch and a slight need for change. As I said earlier, some of the pricing and package options are being altered, but so is my calendar. I have set aside specific time in my schedule to focus on my family and other relationships (what I consider a top priority in life) and have decided to further limit the number of sessions and weddings I schedule per month. I want to be able to offer quality products and service, and when I have a stressful schedule I have learned my work is not the best it can be.
That said, my 2009 wedding season is booking super fast so if you are an interested bride please contact me as soon as possible to see if I have your date available. If I do not have your date available, I do have a number of wonderful area photographers I can recommend for you.
It appears 2009 will be another year of learning and gaining experience and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it!
